-Home Depot Kids Workshop Build a Trojan Horse Bank from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.  Build a Trojan Horse Bank from the new DreamWorks animated film, "Mr. Peabody & Sherman". FREE hands-on workshops; designed for children ages 5 - 12.  Workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills, tool safety and instill a sense of pride and accomplishment.  All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin.  One workshop kit, apron and pin per child, while supplies last.  Children must be present at the store to participate in the workshop and receive the kit, apron and pin.  Kids Workshop activities are scheduled on a first come/first served basis.  At all Home Depot locations. -Padre Island National Seashore Kite Making and Kite Flying Program from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Kite-flying day where kids can make their own kite for free (while supplies last)! Kite-flying clubs will give tips and demonstrate techniques. This event will be held on Malaquite Beach in front of the Visitor Center and Pavilion.  -February CC Downtown Artwalk starts at 5:30 pm.  Artists, food vendors, live music, Kids Fun Zone with face painting for the kids and tunnel tours for all the family.  The theme in the park this month is Mardi Gras so bead up and come on Downtown. Mardi Gras T-Shirts will be given away in limited numbers.  Don’t forget to watch for the CCPD mounted patrol who are always happy to pose for photographs with the kids.  Also free entry into museums to ArtWalkers on ArtWalk night. The Creative Connections Gallery at 1521 N Chaparral. The Art Museum, 1902 Shoreline Blvd, the Science & History Museum, 1900 N Chaparral, and the Museum of Hispanic Culture 1617 N Chaparral, are all open free. Due to the ongoing construction work on Chaparral Street ArtWalk is unable to use the 300 & 400 blocks of Peoples Street. Instead Mesquite Street traffic will be restricted to one lane only and the food trucks will occupy the other lane.
